Everything is Okay: Season 2 @ Marlborough Contemporary London September 11 — October 13, 2018
An opera of the everyday about small digital images used in electronic communication. Do you use emojis when: ❑ a you are sad and lonely? ❑ b you feel your friends are distant? ❑ c you feel the need to reassure your chat partner? ❑ d in a work context?
Are emojis: ❑ a parasites to language? ❑ b a welcome transposition into written language of tonal inflections borrowed from speech? ❑ c cute and playful? ❑ d costly?
When you receive an emoji, do you feel: ❑ a the love? ❑ b misunderstood? ❑ c like the person who sent you the message is having fun? ❑ d nothing?
You often: ❑ a have dreams where your words are replaced by icons? ❑ b wonder if emojis are spying on you? ❑ c imagine what a world without them would be? ❑ d wonder when emojis really started to exist?
